The Peddars Way runs from the Suffolk border to the North Norfolk Coast, all very runnable, even in the winter and navigation is easy.

Distance: 48 miles approx.

Suitable for: Experienced marathon runners.

Medals: Medals and T-shirt awarded to everyone who completes within 12 hours.

Event Details

Start time: 8am

Entry details: Online entry only. No postal entry, no entry on the day. Closing date for entries will be 20 Jan or when race reaches capacity.

Results details: We use chip (electronic) timing at our events, and also may be manually recording your race number at checkpoints/finish for safety reasons. Please ensure your race number is clearly visible to marshals at all times. We will endeavour to check & publish results within 48 hours of the event finish.

Entry cost: £38. (Non-UKA affiliated + £2 per entry) *UKA affiliated entries must quote UKA URN on entry

Refunds: Up to 6 weeks before the day of the race you will be entitled to 60% refund if you are unable to take part.

Deferment: If you wish to defer your entry to next year due to injury then you must do so at least 3 weeks prior to the event to allow us to fill your place.

Transfers: Transfers will only be allowed with permission of the Race Director and no later than 2 weeks before the event.

Transport: A coach will be available to take runners from Holme next the Sea (finish) back to the start leaving at 6am on 27Jan – to be booked at the same time as entering. Cost £10

Postponement: Should it be necessary to postpone the race due to no fault of Positive Steps Fitness and Wellbeing Ltd, we will reschedule the event to another date in the current year or in the following year. Participants will be given the option to transfer to the rescheduled event or to be given a voucher code of an equivalent value for a future event.

Race numbers: Collected on the day.

Cut off: You must be ready to leave Castle Acre checkpoint by 2:30pm.

Drop bag: A small (e.g 10 litre) drop bag can be transported to Castle Acre checkpoint (26 miles). This needs to be clearly labelled with your name & race number.

Personal drinks: Boxes for each check point will be available at registration for runners personal drinks. These need to be clearly labelled with name/race number.

Refreshments: Drinks & snacks will be provided for participants at checkpoints, with hot soup (26 mile checkpoint) and chilli at the finish.

First aid: First aiders will be present at the start/finish and along the course. If you develop medical problems please alert the nearest marshall and prompt assistance will be provided.

Friends/family: We very much welcome supporters at our events. Please note dogs are not allowed in the finish venue and refreshments are provided for participants only. The pub at the 26 mile point will be open if supporters wish to purchase any food & drink.

Race Rules

RULES which entrants must agree with:

  • To enter the race, you must be aged 21 years or over on the date of the race.
  • You must have completed a run of at least 26.2 in the last 12 months and also have experience of running off-road.
  • Anyone caught littering on the course be disqualified from the race.
  • Running numbers must be worn on the front and must be clearly visible at all times.
  • Runners compete in this event entirely at their own risk.
  • Pacers will not be permitted during this run.
  • All competitors must compete on foot.
  • The course is not suitable for wheelchairs.

The following kit is mandatory:

  • Carry during the race sufficient water/food to last up to 13 mile
  • Carry full waterproofs and an additional base layer, hat and gloves
  • Suitable torch to be carried for night hours
  • Wear reflective bib/clothing
  • Carry fully charged mobile with emergency numbers programed in contacts
  • Wear suitable running shoes for off road running
  • Carry a suitable map of the route

The above are minimum requirements, please don’t skimp on kit especially if weather is bad. Please note there will be a kit check to ensure you have the mandatory items.

By entering, I declare that I agree to abide by the rules of the race and accept full responsibility for my actions (and the actions of my supporters) throughout the day of the race. I can confirm that the medical details provided are accurate as of the time of submitting my entry, and I will be responsible for providing updated medical details to the organisers on the date of the race should my medical circumstances change. I also agree that my name can be shared on the entry list any videos or photos taken during the event can be used by the race organisers for marketing purposes. I understand that the race organisers will keep my contact details on record for communication purposes only and won’t provide details to any third parties.
