Peddars Way Trail Ultra Marathon 2021

Ultra Marathon

23 Jan 2021

Peddars Way Ultra - we are committed to this race going ahead.

You will be put a on pre entry waiting list to reduce both your financial risk and ours! Once we are happy that the event will go ahead you will be invited you to complete your entry. We are hoping to achieve this by early December. In the meantime, keep training!

We have the support of Holme Next to The Sea and have the use of the village Hall for the finish. Discussion are on going with Suffolk Wildlife Trust regarding the start at Knettishall Heath.

Obviously, all of this is subject to further restrictions being imposed…. This is beyond our control and keeps us all on what feels like a knife edge!

The big changes for 2021 is there will be no sleep over at Holme Village Hall the Friday night before the race and there will be no coaches to the start from Holme on the Saturday Morning. There will also be a rolling start.

The Peddars Way runs from the Suffolk border to the North Norfolk Coast, all very runnable even in the winter and navigation is easy following the national trail throughout! Total distance is just over 48 miles.

Checkpoints at 14 miles, 27 miles and 34 miles. Strict covid -19 plans will be in place and strictly adhered to.

Please note this is a linear route and due to Covid -19 there will be no transport available. You will need to organise transport back to your car.

Race forms part of Positive Steps Grand Slam. The other races are the Norfolk 100 km and the Kings Forest 50 km. All three events must be completed in any order in a 12 month period to be awarded the Grand Slam tankard.

Distance: 48 miles approx.

Suitable for: Experienced marathon runners.

Medals: Medals awarded to everyone who completes within 12 hours. Race forms part of Positive Steps Grand Slam.

Places available: 150
