The Peddars Way runs from the Suffolk border to the North Norfolk Coast, all very runnable and navigation is easy following the national trail throughout! Total distance is just over 48 miles.
Checkpoints at 14 miles, 27 miles and 34 miles.
Distance: 48 miles approx.
Suitable for: Experienced marathon runners.
Medals: Medals awarded to everyone who completes within 12 hours. Race forms part of Positive Steps Grand Slam.

Event Details
Start time: 8:00am
Entry details: Entries are online via Si Entries, using the link on this page. If you have not used Si Entries previously you will need to create an account before entering. Once you have entered and paid you will receive confirmation and other correspondence about the race via Si Entries. Initially this may go into your spam box. If you need to amend any details of your entry you can log into your account at anytime and edit your entry. If you misplace any emails about the race you can go to message history and retrieve all emails.
Results details: We use gun time, and also manually record your race number at checkpoints/finish for safety reasons. We will be using GPS tracking on the event. This will allow us, the organisers, to know where you are, give you peace of mind and allow your friends and family to follow your progress. You must have completed a run of at least 26.2 miles in the last 12 months in order to qualify to enter this event. Finisher’s medals are awarded to everyone who completes within 12 hours. The race will be held under UK Athletics rules (permit applied for) Race will start from Knettishall Heath (TL 944807) – toilets available at the start.
Entry cost: £52. (Non-UKA affiliated + £2 per entry) *UKA affiliated entries must quote UKA URN on entry
Refunds: You will be entitled to a 60% refund if you are unable to take part, up until 6 weeks before the day of the race.
Deferment: Sorry but we do not do deferrals for events as this has a knock-on financial impact.
Transfers: Transfers are permitted via the SI entry system up until entries close (usually the weekend before the event)
Postponement: Should it be necessary to postpone the race due to no fault of Positive Steps Fitness and Wellbeing Ltd, we will reschedule the event to another date in the current year or in the following year. Participants will be given the option to transfer to the rescheduled event or to be given a voucher code of an equivalent value for a future event.
Race numbers: Bib numbers and GPS trackers collected on the day.
Cut off: You must be ready to leave Castle Acre checkpoint by 2:00pm. and reach Holme Village Hall by 8pm
Drop bag: A small bag can be transported to Castle Acre and then on to the finish
Personal drinks: Coach transport will be available from the finish location to the start, BEFORE the event begins (i.e. leave your car at the finish). Must be booked via Si Entries. Cost £12
Refreshments: There will be a selection of food available along with water squash and coke-cola
First aid: First aiders will be present at the start/finish and along the course. If you develop medical problems please alert the nearest marshall and prompt assistance will be provided.
Friends/family: Supporters are most welcome at our events.

Race Rules
RULES which entrants must agree with:
- To enter the race, you must be aged 21 years or over on the date of the race.
- You must have completed a run of at least 26.2 in the last 12 months and also have experience of running off-road.
- Anyone caught littering on the course be disqualified from the race.
- Running numbers must be worn on the front and must be clearly visible at all times.
- Runners compete in this event entirely at their own risk.
- Pacers will not be permitted during this run.
- All competitors must compete on foot.
- The course is not suitable for wheelchairs.
The following kit is mandatory:
- Carry during the race sufficient water/food to last up to 13 miles
- Carry full waterproofs and an additional base layer, hat and gloves
- Suitable torch to be carried for night hours (even if you intend to finish in daylight)
- Wear reflective bib/clothing
- Carry fully charged mobile with emergency numbers programmed in contacts
- Wear suitable running shoes for off road running
- Carry a suitable map of the route
The above are minimum requirements, please don’t skimp on kit especially if weather is bad. Please note there will be a kit check to ensure you have the mandatory items.
By entering, I declare that I agree to abide by the rules of the race and accept full responsibility for my actions (and the actions of my supporters) throughout the day of the race. I can confirm that the medical details provided are accurate as of the time of submitting my entry, and I will be responsible for providing updated medical details to the organisers on the date of the race should my medical circumstances change. I also agree that my name can be shared on the entry list any videos or photos taken during the event can be used by the race organisers for marketing purposes.
